Welsh slate is arguably the most desirable roof covering in the world but what was once a prominent material has now become incredibly elusive and expensive. Carapace Slate has found a unique way to upcycle the waste slate piled high in the mountains of Blaenau Ffestiniog and reform it into the UK’s first snap fit, rapid fitting roof tile.

Using 80%+ slate powder, our tiles replicate the historic natural beauty of premium Welsh Slate, but can be installed in as little as one minute per square metre and without the need for nails or screws. You can find out more information on us on our website.
